CASACOR RIO 2022
CASACOR is an exhibition created by Yolanda Figueiredo and Angélica Rueda, and was created with the aim of being a social, cultural and charitable event.
At a cultural and social level, research is carried out and genuinely important themes are included in the script to be explored and transformed into the art of the setting.
In 2022 it couldn't be any different
The event that brought the 31st edition took place at Residência Brando Barbosa, in the Jardim Botânico neighborhood, in Rio de Janeiro. This time we sought to highlight a subject that, perhaps, has touched everyone in different ways during these years of pandemic in which we live. Concern about the way we live.
Analyzing the theme “Infinito Particular”, which will be the same in all editions across Brazil this year. We saw that the project sought to discuss the importance of the home's collection of memories. In other words, a safe haven, in contact with nature and tranquility.
On a charitable level, we could not expect such a thorough and spectacular result when we involve such a talented cast of professionals with the best in architecture. As well as interior decoration, design, art and landscaping. There were 43 teams to create 45 cultural and contemporary environments.
There was a special focus on the gardens and external areas, which have a total of 12 thousand m² covered by native vegetation from the Atlantic Forest.
23 projects carried out at CasaCor
Among them the Pátio da Fonte Gafisa by Paola Ribeiro, Jardim do Chafariz by Ricardo Portilho, which faces the main entrance of the house, gaining even more prominence with the landscaping intervention, Paisagismo Migrante – a tropical garden. Thus, with the exuberance of the Atlantic Forest and the return of bromeliads, by Catê Poli, Much Além do Jardim by Anna Luiza Rothier, which is an open-air corner. Slightly protected from the rain by umbrellas, and with plenty of space for informal and relaxed meetings, and others.
Among the trends in this edition, self-care spaces stand out, which, previously focused exclusively on hygiene, now take on the role of bathrooms for decompression and relaxation, as was the case with the environment designed by Diego Raposo and Manuela Simas – DECA SPA. combining well-being with sensory memories with a large space connected to nature.
In addition, we had integrated environments, such as multifunctional living rooms, which unfold and gain several functions to meet day-to-day needs in a reduced space. For example, Sala Tempo, by Dado Castello Branco, which combines activities together with the home office or Recanto, by Adriana Esteves, which transforms the home office into a place for reflection.
Another trend is small spaces and sustainable construction, which are so popular that there was a change in the exhibition's strategy, bringing something new to this edition – A Vila Casa Cor – with studios ranging between 28 m² and 80 m² occupying part of the gardens. house with a proposal for housing and commercial spaces, with fast, clean and sustainable construction methods.
The buildings can be dismantled – which will actually happen after the end of the event – and reassembled in the same format on another site. Like the Studio Cubo project, by Jorge Delmas.
We notice that everything revolves around innovation and, therefore, we cannot fail to mention the works of art in augmented reality, as in the case of the project by Gisele Taranto Arquitetura – BamˈBo͞o Bar. She created a space and three moments, in person with a bar and a living area in the garden. In-person-virtual, with augmented reality works of art that appear in the bamboo grove when you activate QR Codes. And it's virtual with a gallery created exclusively in the Metaverse.
Just like in the last edition, CASACOR Rio de Janeiro 2022 was hybrid: The exhibition could be visited both in person and virtually, through the 3D Tour, photos and videos available on the website and YouTube channel.
The headquarters of CASACOR Rio de Janeiro
The headquarters of CASACOR Rio de Janeiro in 2021 and 2022, Palacete Brando Barbosa is next to the Botanical Garden and was built in 1860. As part of the old Chácara da Floresta by the Faro family, important coffee growers.
Starting in the 1960s, when Jorge Brando Barbosa and his wife Odaléa bought, renovated and expanded the original property. In this way, using furniture, arches, portals, paintings and sculptures found in antique shops, convents, farmhouses and churches in the interior of Brazil.
Finally, many of these architectural details were restored for CASACOR 2021 and along with modern and technological solutions. They created a mix of classic and contemporary that permeated the entire exhibition.
Donated in 2015, while still alive, by Odaléa Brando Barbosa to the Museum of Sacred Art in São Paulo, the palace will house it after completion. In addition to the Brando Barbosa Institute (IBB), a meeting place for those interested in art, culture and education.
