Milan is always a bridge between different cultures, a true cultural exchange, a moment of meeting and reflection between all professionals in the sector.

The production process is made and carried out exclusively in Italy and is highly specialized. Italian carpentry traditionally remains high standard and sets trends, as it combines design, technology and creativity in customizable products.

Elegance as a sum of pleasure and value

Even though we were without a fair for 2 years due to the coronavirus pandemic, this was not an excuse to “stop” innovation in the sector. This accelerated its evolution in terms of design and furniture and we could see this in this latest edition.

We realized that the gaze is completely focused on the house, which “has not stopped” and has reinvented itself and gained new perspectives and purposes within the furniture sector. In other words, the big challenge now is to make spaces increasingly comfortable, functional and interactive.

The result was varied and democratic aesthetic paths that range from the fluidity of the furniture that was presented several times in organic forms, returning to the classic and seeking inspiration from natural elements.

The Salone del Mobile Milano then marks the return to the meeting of designers from the most diverse cultural contexts. Also geographical, physicality, verification of the results produced in 2 years of digital.

The palettes are also varied, although the seduction of natural and soft nuances is notable and light tones were highlighted. The materials respect and speak to nature and the environment and sustainability guided the event as a whole.

A strong point was the recovery of rare and sophisticated woods and also the use of recycled plastics or new composites. The true upcycling of furniture.

The finishes

At the Milan Motor Show, the finishes are precious and precise, the fabrics engaging and appealing to the touch. The furniture of 2022 wants to be caressed, with your eyes, but above all with your hands. And, like never before, they invite true, real and non-decorative use.

We realized that one of the most followed paths in this edition of the event was the transversality of furniture, examples such as the Shaal sofa from Doshi Levien. Structured and, at the same time, it embraces and involves whoever sits in it, bringing touch and warmth everywhere. Its design is tailor-made, soft, generous, light: adaptable to any environment.

In executive furniture trends we see pivoting spaces that lend themselves to team meetings. Always inspired by the comfort of the residential world with height-adjustable tables that perform multiple functions, reinforcing the concept of hybridization of environments.

Contemporary design in Milan Motor Show

There was a lot of attention from contemporary design aligned with the discovery of techniques. In addition to the use of artisanal elements, and the great desire to mix craftsmanship itself with industry.

At the Milan Motor Show, what we value today is the quality of materials and the intelligence of the workforce. Therefore, a good example of this were the two new benches in the Collection Ritzwell MO. Designed by Shinsaku Miyamoto and united by the wooden structure and the seat that plays on a fine leather weave.

Certainly made-to-measure is no longer just a trend, but a fact of life in the post-Covid home. In this way, changes in perspectives, views, unexpected paths, new opportunities, a new home full of new possibilities in furniture.
