CASACOR São Paulo 2023

CASACOR São Paulo, the main event of the most complete exhibition of architecture, landscaping, art and interior design in the Americas, was hosted at Conjunto Nacional. In the 2023 edition, the exhibition presented innovative projects that refer not only to the skin of the body. But also to the skin of the house and the planet, bringing an intriguing theme: “Body & Address”. This way, we will explore details, highlights, trends, materials, colors and the experiences of CASACOR São Paulo 2023.

The concept of “Body & Address” highlighted at CASACOR São Paulo

The curators of CASACOR São Paulo, Livia Pedreira, Pedro Ariel Santana and Cris Ferraz, based on trend research, defined the concept of the year, summarized in the theme “Body & Address”. This concept inspired the artists, architects, interior designers and landscapers invited to create installations and environments that promoted reflections and experiences for visitors throughout the entire exhibition route.

01. Biophilia in evidence – connecting with nature

The trend that is gaining momentum is bringing nature into the home. This way, we can add freshness and life to environments using plants and flowers. In addition, you can make the most of natural light by opening large windows and using light curtains. In other words, we can incorporate natural materials, such as stone and wood, to create a welcoming and serene atmosphere.

One of the highlighted themes at CASACOR São Paulo 2023 is biophilia, which explores the connection between human beings and nature. Therefore, in different environments, it is possible to find projects that embrace nature as an essential part of the experience. In this way, the installation by Peruvian architects Augusta Pastor and Santiago Roose stands out, who propose a reflection on a new “plantopocene” and “phytocentric” horizon. In other words, this approach places plants at the center of the inhabited space, rescuing the importance of vegetation in our lives.

02. The charm of rustic ceramics

The beauty of rustic pottery lies in its simplicity and originality. Therefore, with patterns and textures inspired by nature, this trend creates a unique atmosphere and invites connection with natural elements. 06. Comfortable low bed

The low bed is another of the trends present at CASACOR SP 2023. Inspired by Japanese decor, this type of furniture provides a peaceful and minimalist resting environment. The memory body: revisiting the past

Another highlight is the installation that brings the saga of Lampião and Maria Bonita, revisited on the panel designed by surface designer Jade Marangolo, in partnership with architect Gleuse Ferreira, great-granddaughter of the couple. Therefore, this environment is a way of honoring Brazil's historical memory, connecting the past with the present.

The dream body: the poetics of light

Representing the dream body, light and its poetics are the theme of the installation by one of the most renowned light designers in the country, architect Guinter Parschalk. In this way, his project explores the relationship between lighting and the creation of magical and inspiring atmospheres.

The ancestral body: rescuing history

The exhibition also covers the theme of the ancestral body, highlighted in the installation by artist Daniel Jorge. In this way, he immersed himself in peripheral architecture and African geometric patterns in Benin and Nigeria. In other words, translating their experience into a monument-sculpture that rescues the history and culture of these people.

Big names and notable partnerships at CASACOR São Paulo

CASACOR São Paulo 2023 also celebrates important partnerships. In this way, Deca, Master Sponsor of the event for three decades, presents the BRB CASACOR card in an unprecedented partnership with Banco BRB. As well, the exhibition featured the participation of renowned architects, such as Sig Bergamin, who returned after three decades. Ready to celebrate long-lasting synergy with an environment that shows the history of the last three decades of the Brazilian bathroom.

CASACOR São Paulo 2023 is art and sustainability in evidence

In addition to architecture and design, CASACOR São Paulo 2023 also connects with the universe of arts. In other words, for the first time, it had its own Art Gallery. Thus, it presents artistic installations along the route, such as murals, panels, sculptures and lights. As a result, enriching the visitor experience.

Finally, a fundamental part of CASACOR's DNA, sustainability continues to be one of the biggest trends in the segment. In this way, the exhibition's waste management program reached the impressive mark of 99.7% of waste reuse, and the target for this year was to reach 100%. Furthermore, CASACOR São Paulo made 100% of compensation for its carbon emissions, promoting social impact actions and collaborating with social organizations aimed at promoting human diversity.
