Therefore, with an area of approximately 10,000 m², the site was completely revitalized to accommodate more than 30 innovative environments, created by 50 renowned professionals.
Inspired by the theme “As a gift, the nowThis year's edition brings together modernity, heritage, and sustainability, offering a true immersion in contemporary design and nature.
In addition to highlighting these innovative trends, the 2024 edition also connects with the growing global movement to live in harmony with nature. In other words, Florianópolis uniquely exemplifies this trend worldwide. Currently, the city is a hub of technological and architectural innovation, as well as a refuge for those seeking a balance between urban life and daily contact with nature.

Florianópolis: Quality of life is the sum of a healthy lifestyle + connection with nature
Florianópolis is frequently cited as one of the best cities to live in the world, and it's not hard to see why. The island offers a combination of factors that attract people interested in a healthy and sustainable lifestyle.
There are over 40 beaches, trails that crisscross mountains and forests, and a population that values sports, healthy eating, and an outdoor routine.
Well-being has always been a key word in Florianópolis. Thus, contact with nature is a part of residents' daily lives, whether through sports like kitesurfing, stand-up paddleboarding, bodyboarding, and sailing, or through more leisurely activities like evening walks, trails, and sunset views.
This connection with nature has a profound impact on the mental and physical health of those who live here. As a result, it provides a sense of balance and tranquility, something that is currently difficult to find in other urban centers.

Urban and Natural Integration that only Florianópolis provides
The projects in the 2024 edition of CASACOR Florianópolis reflect how it's possible to create urban environments without sacrificing proximity to nature. Florianópolis has distinguished itself worldwide for popularizing the construction of green spaces and for preserving and integrating natural areas around its buildings. This not only fosters a healthier environment and lifestyle, but also redefines a highly modern and ecological aesthetic.
On the island, the idea of integrating urban space with nature extends beyond residential spaces. Many commercial projects, such as restaurants and offices, are adopting the concept of "biophilia," which seeks to incorporate natural elements into their environments.
This includes the use of vertical gardens, as well as glass walls to take advantage of natural light and decor that blends into the outdoor environment.

The Top 5 Design and Architecture Trends from CASACOR Florianópolis 2024
This year's event showcases a series of trends that not only define the future of Santa Catarina design, but are also perfectly suited to the Florianópolis lifestyle. Here are the main trends that will mark the 2024 edition:
1. Bioclimatic Architecture
The projects in this edition highlight bioclimatic architecture, which aims to maximize energy efficiency and take advantage of the region's natural conditions. Using natural lighting, cross-ventilation, and materials adapted to Florianópolis' climate, the proposal is to create sustainable environments that are integrated with their surroundings.
2. Modular and Sustainable Constructions
A strong trend in 2024 is the use of modular construction. Therefore, these projects offer flexibility and customization while minimizing environmental impact. Floripa, with its rich biodiversity and celebrated nature, inspires architectural solutions that reduce and optimize the consumption of natural resources.
3. Interiors Integrated with Nature
The connection between indoors and outdoors has never been so evident. Therefore, in this 2024 edition, many spaces feature large openings that integrate indoor areas with gardens, as well as balconies and stunning views. With its beaches and mountainous landscapes, Floripa is pure global inspiration for this outdoor living trend.

4. Technology for Well-Being
The use of technology for well-being is on the rise. Therefore, home automation systems that improve quality of life, such as smart lighting and temperature, are increasingly present. As a result, this integration between technology and nature ensures comfort and convenience. Of course, without losing sight of the connection with the environment.

5. Co-Living Spaces and Collaborative Communities
Another growing trend is the creation of co-living spaces, where people share common areas, such as gardens and leisure spaces. Florianópolis, with its welcoming and collaborative culture, is the perfect setting for this concept, valuing community life and collective well-being.

Inspired by the cultural and ancestral roots of indigenous peoples, this space proposes a reflection on the impact of contemporary architecture on the environment and cultural traditions. Architect and landscape designer Ana Trevisan's connection to her heritage and the wisdom held by the Guarani ethnic group, who live in Santa Catarina and resist the influences of contemporary times. Delving into the indigenous worldview and their way of being in the world was the research path she followed to create a vibrant space truly connected to nature.
"Caught up in the theme of the Santa Catarina exhibition "De presente, o agora" (From the Present, the Now), I returned to the ties that bind me to Indigenous culture. And, most importantly, with the intention of understanding the relationship that Indigenous peoples have with the land and with plants. An active listening process that led to the creation of several striking elements in the space, such as the work of artist and muralist Danka Umbert, inspired by the graphics of indigenous tattoos. There's also the Healing Garden, with plants and herbs offering various health benefits. And the strong presence of flora interspersed with areas designed for enjoying, lingering, and experiencing the open-air ambiance., says architect and landscaper Ana Trevisan.

The selection of chosen species flourishes in a diversity of colors, aromas, and shapes. And the large fountain vases that greet you at the entrance highlight the new colors in bright and aged Annatto—red and brown—developed by Ana Trevisan in collaboration with Vaso&Cor. "We arrived at Urucum, the fruit of the annatto tree, a tree native to tropical climates. It is widely used in face painting, cooking, and Guarani rituals." The earthy color motivated the research.”In addition to the national launch of the tones in our square, people will have a true experience with the proposed configuration.“, he points out.
