Florian\u00f3polis stands out as an award-winning smart city, winning recognition from the Smart City Institute of Latin America. Floripa Mais Tec, a project aimed at stimulating technological learning and training professionals in the area, was one of the winners of InovaCidade 2023. The national award was presented in S\u00e3o Paulo, in the presence of the Secretary of Education, Fabricia Luiz Souza. As well as the Undersecretary of Educational Management and Operations, Eduardo Gutierres, representing the municipality.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The honor granted by the Smart City Institute of Latin America highlights initiatives that contribute to improving the quality of life in cities. In other words, with positive and measurable impacts recognized by society. Recognition values actions carried out by public administration, private initiatives or civil society entities. Aiming to make cities smarter, as well as providing benefits to the community.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Florian\u00f3polis\u2019 commitment to being a smart city<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Florian\u00f3polis demonstrates its commitment to being a smart city, constantly seeking innovative and technological solutions. The national award received by Floripa Mais Tec at InovaCidade 2023 is an indication of the success of the strategies implemented in the municipality. The Secretary of Education, Fabricia Luiz Souza, and the Undersecretary of Educational Management and Operations, Eduardo Gutierres, received the trophy in S\u00e3o Paulo. Celebrating the recognition deserved for the commitment and dedication to promoting the intelligent development of Florian\u00f3polis.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Floripa Mais Tec is a partnership between Florian\u00f3polis City Hall, Senai-Fiesc, Sebrae SC and Acate, Santa Catarina Technology Association. Among the 106 registered projects, the one in the Capital stood out and reached the 32 finalists. The Secretary of Education highlighted that this is another City Hall project that transforms lives, aiming for a humane and intelligent city.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mayor Top\u00e1zio Neto emphasized that Florian\u00f3polis is preparing and training a workforce specialized in technology for the future. Through this project, the city directly contributes to the modernization of education, generating opportunities and promoting the socioeconomic development of communities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

About the award-winning project<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

The project offers the Aul\u00e3o do Futuro<\/em> with the participation of renowned professionals in the world of technology, introductory courses with different levels of knowledge and guidance on technology learning paths. As well as live classes, practical exercises and various challenges. In addition, there are technology training courses depending on the profile and performance of the participants.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Students in the final years of the Florian\u00f3polis municipal network participate in the project through the \u201cJornada Kids\u201d, offered in schools. In other words, the main objective is to stimulate children's technological learning, contributing to the development of essential skills for future professions. Last year, the project reached 34 schools, offering 111 lectures and training 3,081 students and 74 teachers. The \u201cAul\u00e3o do Futuro\u201d also had the participation of 3,702 people.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Finally, the project involved 3,500 people aged 14 and over, providing the opportunity to delve deeper into the world of technology and prepare for future professions in a practical and free way.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What is a Smart City?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

A Smart City or better said, smart city is one that adopts a current approach focused on creativity and sustainability. In other words, using technology in its planning process with the active participation of citizens. According to the European Union, Smart Cities are systems in which people interact and use energy. As well as materials, services and financing to drive economic development and improve quality of life. In this way, these intelligent interactions are based on a strategic infrastructure. Uniting services, information and communication, urban planning and management that meet the social and economic needs of society.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Cities in Motion Index, from IESE Business School, in Spain, uses 10 dimensions to indicate the level of intelligence of a city: governance, public administration, urban planning, technology, environment, international connections, social cohesion, human capital and economy .<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Although it is a relatively recent concept, Smart Cities have already established themselves as a fundamental topic in global discussions on sustainable development, driving a global market for technological solutions that is estimated at US$$ 408 billion by 2020.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The factors that really make a city Smart<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Currently, cities in emerging countries are investing billions of dollars in smart products and services to sustain economic growth and meet the demands of the new middle class. At the same time, developed countries need to improve their existing urban infrastructure to remain competitive.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In this search for solutions, more than half of European cities with more than 100,000 inhabitants already have or are implementing initiatives to become true Smart Cities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Floripa Smart City & High Tech<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The SC-401 highway, in Florian\u00f3polis, is globally recognized for its high technology due to the presence of several companies in the sector along its route. One example is the multinational technology company Intel, which has a research and development center located close to the highway.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Furthermore, the Alfa Technological Park, located close to SC-401, is home to several technology companies, startups and educational institutions focused on technological innovation. This concentration of cutting-edge companies and institutions along the highway reinforces its importance as a high-technology hub in Florian\u00f3polis.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

ACATE (Associa\u00e7\u00e3o Santa Catarina de Tecnologia), headquartered in Florian\u00f3polis, is an organization that plays a fundamental role in the region's technological ecosystem. The association acts as a connection and support hub for technology companies, startups and entrepreneurs, promoting the development and competitiveness of the sector.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

ACATE offers training, mentoring and networking programs, in addition to representing the segment's interests with government entities and development institutions.
